Visitor statistics
We use Vercel Analytics for aggregated, anonymous statistics about visitor numbers and pages viewed. It does not use cookies and does not tell us who you are. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). On every visit, Vercel's servers process technical data such as your IP address and browser type, which is needed to deliver the page and protect it from abuse, and keep it for a short period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Transfers outside the EU rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Cookies
We use a single cookie, “lang”, which remembers your chosen language (Romanian or English) for one year. It is only set when you switch language and is strictly necessary for the feature you asked for, so it does not require consent. We use no marketing or tracking cookies.
Bookings and contact
Bookings happen directly by phone, WhatsApp or social media. We use the details you send us there (name, phone number, booking details) only to arrange your booking (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Messages sent via WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook are also processed by Meta under its own policies. This website does not collect or store this data.
Third-party links
This website contains links to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Google Maps and TripAdvisor. These platforms have their own privacy policies, independent of this website.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing. To use any of these rights, email us at shelterescapehouse@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP, www.dataprotection.ro).
